Cleaning Test
- You still missed things that are in the checklist. Please re-do this and go through the checklist and make sure EVERYTHING in the checklist is checked off before you resubmit. If you have any questions on what to do, please PM or find me at our discord channel.

Typesetter Test
- Kokoromi will further review this.

- PR/QC Test
I'm going to recommend (since you're gonna go through training anyways) that you go back and re-do these tests (with the updated ones too) once you finish Cleaning and Typesetter training. I don't want you having too many things going on at once and after going through CL/TS training you'll gain a lot of knowledge of how we do things around here and it'll tremendously help, especially with QC training.

French Test
- I seemed to have misplaced my FR Test Key, so I will have to get back to you on this after some digging. Right now the only thing we have raws for in French is Switch Girl. Not sure if this would be a project you'd be interested in or not.

Hi Vergos,

It seems you spoke with my co-admin Kokoromi. Please download the new versions of the tests as they contain Checklist and Guideline documents that I updated a couple weeks ago.

Hi Vergos,

Welcome to Decadence! Thank you for applying.

I just peaked at your Typesetter/Cleaning test real quick and I want you to go back through them. Make sure to read the guidelines and checklist for both test. You missed quite a few things that are found in these documents. When you typeset, you should not use the same font for all speech. There should be a font list included in the test. Please take a look at any of our recent releases at the Readerfor ideas on how to properly typeset and font usage.

See if you can figure out the major issues yourself by reviewing those documents. If you need help feel free to contact me on discord or through PM.

I will take a look at your other test later this week.

Oh also, the naming should be "Decadence" not "Transcendence". I thought I had removed all of the "Transcendences" in the test but I guess not.  :X-D:

Questions/Suggestions / Re: Just photoshop?
« on: November 20, 2017, 08:42 PM »
Hi Gatita! There's not specific generation you need to use! I suggest the CS series over like the Elements series. The Element series doesn't give much options as far as custom brushes and settings. Most of it's preset stuff.

I use CS6 but I used to use CS5 and had CS4 at one point too. All the tutorials we have were made with CS6. Hope that helps!

Questions/Suggestions / Re: Manga suggestion

Hi Kuroneko!  Welcome to Decadence!

Thanks for the suggestion. Unfortunately we're not picking up any new serious at the moment. We currently lack typesetters and cleaners so until we can get more staff we can't do more projects! Sorry!

Recruitment / Please Read!!!

This topic contains VERY important information. PLEASE READ IT ALL THE WAY THROUGH.

Welcome to the Decadence forums! And thanks for being interested in joining our group!

If you're interested in becoming one of our staff members, here's the general overview of how it will go:

Download the designated test from the Tests!!! thread.
Post a thread in this forum with the completed test for the position you are interested in doing.
One of our lovely expert staffers will review your test.
Cleaners and typesetters are never failed. A trainer will write up notes for you to fix on your cleaning/typesetting test. Once you pass those few pages you'll be assigned three trial chapters. Once you finish those, unless your trainer feels otherwise, you will be made full staff. The same goes for the other positions. You will be given three trial chapters and, upon discretion of your trainer, you'll be made full staff after you complete them.
When you are made full staff you may contact me and I will assign you something to work on.

There are 6 different types of positions:

Translator (JP, KR, or CH): You translate from raw scans into English. You must be good enough in both the original language and English to provide a good script for us to work with. Translator guidelines.
Proofreader: You check and correct the translated scripts. You must have a strong command of English grammar and a bit of finesse with the language to try to turn awkward and incorrect English into more natural-sounding sentences. Proofreader guidelines.
Cleaner: You remove text and sound effects and generally prepare raw scans for typesetting. You must have an eye for detail and be willing to undergo our rigorous training. Cleaner guidelines.
Typesetter: You take the proofread scripts and turn the cleaned pages into an English manga chapter. You must have an eye for detail, some creativity, and be willing to undergo our rigorous training. Typesetter guidelines.
Editor: Combines the jobs of Cleaner and Typesetter.
Quality Checker: You check the completed chapters and make sure that nothing is missing, out of place, looks weird, or is spelled wrong. You must have an obsessive eye for detail, and grumble at every mistake or hourglass-shaped text you see in a round bubble in a manga. You have to want our releases to be the very best they can be! Quality Checker guidelines.

To apply, take the designated test in the Tests!!! thread, then make a thread in this forum titled: [The position you want] (Your username)
Then fill out this questionnaire please:

Why did you decide to join Decadence?
Tell us a bit about yourself!

Important Things To Know
- Minimum age to apply is 15 years old. There are some projects that are recommended age 17+. If you don't want to work on the more mature works then you don't have to.
- If you don't respond to your trainer's post/private messages within a month you will be considered MIA and have to reapply
- The training for each position takes about a month, usually less time. Please don't apply if you can't dedicate a month to doing the training.
- If you start the training and then decide it's too hard, you don't have enough time, or it's not something you're really interested in please just say so! We would prefer you just be honest with us instead of wasting your own time as well as ours. :)
- If you have the occasional accident/busy period in life we are very understanding, but if it becomes a constant thing we will ask you to pursue your training at a later date. If you are posting your training pages weeks and weeks apart from each other you often forget things.

When you create your thread in this section, please put I READ THE RULES at the end of it!
Thank you! I look forward to welcoming you to our team. If you have any questions at all feel free to contact Roze, Kokoromi, or Chiisai-Hime. We will respond as soon as we are able!
