Hi kanedian! Welcome to Decadence!  :hi:

I'm Roze, one of the admins here.

Our proofreader trainer will look through your test within a week. Please subscribe to the thread so you get notified when there's a reply.

As for typesetting, we love typesetters and could really use some! If you're interested in typesetting, please do the test and try your best! Either myself or my co-admin, Kokoromi, would train you.

Hi!
I have no experience at all with scanlation, but I'm very much interested in helping out. I saw a recruitment page for Decadence in a manga I was reading. I have no idea when it was released, so I'm not sure if you all still need help. Nonetheless, I thought I'd throw in an application. I edit professionally, so applying as a proofreader made the most sense. However, I am interested in trying typesetting.

    Age: 28
    Timezone/General Location: EST
    Projects Interested Working on: Any.
Do you have any experience? No.

My personal info and proofreading test can be found below:

Thanks for applying, FlameTear.

While you did well on the first section, there were multiple errors in the second and third parts of the test. Unfortunately, I can't pass you right now. Proofreading is hard because you not only need a sharp eye for grammar and spelling, but also a good balance for rewording lines naturally while keeping their meaning. However, we could really use some more typesetters if you're interested in training for that!

Hello I'm FlameTear!  :hi:
    Age: 28
    Timezone/General Location: USA
Projects Interested Working on: Any that need help. I think I would like to try working on mature projects though  ???

Do you have any experience? Years back I did a little work as a cleaner and typesetter, but had to quit because I didn't have enough time to devote to it. It is a bigger job than people realize and everyone that does it has my respect and gratitude! If, down the road, I find I have the time on my hands necessary for it I would be interested in being a Cleaner once again. I've never tried proofreading but feel like I could be good at it (I can be nit picky when I'm reading lol).

Why did you decide to join Decadence? I've been wanting to get back into working on this type of stuff for a while. I like the work I've seen and would like to help if I can!

Ps I read the rules

Hey everybody :hi: I'm Learenn and I'm a proofreader-in-training here.

I'm sure everyone here is a big manga/anime fan, and I'm definitely no exception! My favorites tend to be shounen series (currently Haikyuu and Boku no Hero Academia), but josei feeds my soul. In that category I really love Honey and Clover, not technically josei but March Comes in Like a Lion, Nodame Cantabile, and more recently Chihayafuru.

Nice to meet you all!

Hi, Ruang and Sevs! I look forward to working with you guys soon!

BUT, I also really love NANA! However, I've only ever watched the anime. I'm not a big fan of too much drama so would it be worth it to pick up the manga?

NANA is definitely dramatic, plus the scandals and complex relationships continue to occur in the storyline beyond the anime's. I'd say it's the good kind of drama, though, the kind you can immerse yourself into, truly feel for the characters and have a few you root for depending on your preference. ^^ I'm pretty biased when it comes to NANA, that's for sure, but I've always liked the manga more than the anime (the black and white art is superb) so you have my recommendation!
